NO MORE TBALL OR SWIM LESSONS. NOW SUMMER CAN START.

see also: eating on the front porch.

hallie's tball wrapped up last week and boy howdy was it hot. my mom and her hubby drove in from missouri to watch the game. it was sooooo hot and they stuck it out - even moved into the sun because they couldn't see well from the shade! yikes.

i  got to play helper-coach on the field since dave was gone. it was fun, but it was more fun hitting up the frozen penguin after for some fro-yo :) yum.

we also had one last swim lesson this last week and we are done now until august. yippee!

let the summer laziness begin!

BALLIN'.

here we go, tball!

it's painfully slow at times, but better this year than last year. that was just...brutal. the coach was young and didn't even have a kid on the team.

we were unorganized and hallie learned only that she loved to run the bases.

fast-forward to this year and she has a coach who cares and is good. they do drills and actually learn stuff. but he is so fun that they looooove him too. practice last night was great. she whacked the ball off of the pitching machine and then made an out at second base when she played the field.

plus, she looks really cute.

and henry had a ball feeling the turf in the outfield.

T-Ball is WAY Better Than Soccer.

At least for Hallie.

No tears, lots of fun. I'm so glad.

We had our first game last night. I was prepared for a freak out, nerves, tears, etc.

Nope. She did great. Had fun. Good stuff.

So Soccer Might Not Be Her Thing.

That's okay.
She's only four.

I sort of turned into a mom-zilla at Hallie's soccer game on Saturday. I may or may not have been shouting orders at my daughter on the field.

*sigh*

I just hate to see her not try. It's so frustrating to have her come crying to me on the sidelines for some reason or another. I finally had to give her a talking to, which seemed to help a bit.

She's so little. And scared of the ball (like her mom!). But by golly, just try. TRY. That's all I want. I don't care if she sucks. I don't care if she is awesome. But I want her to try. To pay attention a bit.

But I'm thinking that my best plan would be to just keep my mouth shut. That's my goal for the next game.

Can you spot the new assistant coach?

Go, Navy!

Hallie's second soccer practice was last night. She did great up until they scrimmaged. She came running up to me, bawling "I don't want to play soccer anymore!!" Apparently people were pushing her. To get the ball.

I had to explain things to her. Maybe I should have done this before.

Anyway, she bucked up, went back in there and played.

I don't blame the kid for not wanting to be shoved around. But she's got to get tough. I mean, she is four. Time to knock some heads together.
Not.

GO TROJANS!

Just don't ask me the score of the game. I was too busy looking at the cuteness that is this:

Go sports! Or whatever.

Please Watch.

Seriously - this is hysterical. My favorite quote in response to the reporter's question of, "is it important to win?" Eli's response, "No, it's not really important to do anything." I love it.

Another favorite quote in response to "why are you good at baseball?" Eli's response, "i spend a lot of time in my room...playing leggos." HAHAHAHAHAHA.

There are some great moments on this video - watch it allll the way through.

Like a Peach.

I played (non-competitive) volleyball for work yesterday. Yes, work. A good time was had by all. I woke up sore and bruised. I'm a wimp. (probably not a surprise).

Behold the fierceness of REGISTMATOLOGY!!!!!
(Don't I look like I should be cheering instead?)
