Rockin' With the Rhythm of the Rain.

Don't you think I need this for our front porch? We live facing a pond for pete's sake!

I dream of a deep porch swing, loaded up with quilts and pillows, rocking with a baby in my arms (not an announcement!) and Hallie leaned against me and Dave.

Heaven.

Plus, isn't the yellow fun?

(edited because I apparently don't know how to spell rhythm.)

Backsplash.

Okay, this is not my backsplash, but I forgot the camera again. Same idea, white subway tile backsplash with white grout.

It looks fabulous. Finished, clean, dare I say....perfect? It suits my kitchen and my style.  I absolutely love it, so come over and see it sometime!

In other news, I thinking about doing this in my dining room. I've been collecting fun and different plates from the thift store for a while.

I love this look.

I was originally thinking above the bed, but ouch! What if one of those things fell off the wall?

Zoey The Wonder Mutt.

Pictures of our new backsplash coming soon!

But here's something different, just so that I don't get anymore nasty emails about updating my blog.

This is our canine extraordinaire, Zoey. She's the half of a pair of pups we adopted a million years ago (like, four). Burt, her brother, was our favorite. Strong and calm, he was the best dog ever. Zoey was jumpy, annoying and loved to chase cars. Do you see where this is going?

I got a call one day from our contractor, Kyle.

He ran over Burt with his truck. He felt so bad, and the entire roofing crew stopped working to help bury him (by the transformer in our yard).

And thus, we were left with Zoey.
Zoey stepped up, big time. Never again did she chase a truck. Very rarely did she ever jump up again, and she became the World's Best Dog.

I mean, seriously. Look at that face???
She deserves that dog bed!

Dave the Serial Killer.

I'm not sure what is scarier here.

Hallie with scissors,

Or Dave's creepy smile.

Fiesta!

It's like a party in my cabinets!

I Am Here.

I'm here. Really. And I've got a ton of pictures to post.

So I am here, pictures are here, but...my camera cord is at home.

Again.

For the second day in a row.

So instead, here's me wishing for a warm, summer day.

Who Knew?

Peanut butter and honey sandwiches.

Yum.

Goodnight, Honey.

I think this is pretty cute. The baby bed, not the messiness.

She likes to set her baby's bed next to her bed. And then she spends a lot of time before bed each night (stalling!!!) getting her baby just so. She arranges the pillow and covers and then make sure she has enough company for the night by tucking in her Snow White barbie and her plush pink pig.

It's really, really cute.

And it gets cuter when she kisses her and say, "Goodnight, honey. Now try to stay in your bed tonight. I love you."

And then I tuck my sweet staller child into bed and say, "Goodnight, honey. Now try to stay in your bed tonight. I love you."

Wanna come over and tickle the ivories?

Be warned...a few keys stick. She's had a hard life. And there's more brutality to come, just you wait until Hallie starts lessons!

Why I Hate Playing in the Snow.

It's just not easy. It's so much effort for so little time. And tiny, puffy mittens can't do much in the snow. It's fun for about 10 minutes and then back inside, dripping wet and cold.

The hot chocolate at the end is the best part. That and seeing her attempt a snow angel. And jump on the trampoline.

Okay, so maybe it wasn't that bad.

It was actually kind of awesome.

Red Tights.

She wonders why her legs itch, but it certainly couldn't be the tights. She wore these days at a time, even putting them on slightly wet when the dryer wasn't drying fast enough.

I present to you....the Red Tights.

We got Hallie an i-phone for Christmas. I mean, she's already three, so really it's overdue.

She rocks at "testing." Ask Dylan. Or Bob.

Christmas, Take 5.

Last one? I think so.

After naps on Christmas Day (for ALL of us), we packed up the car and headed to St. Louis for some Chronister Christmas Fun. I think Dave and Aunt Liz will agree that the noise volume (high) and dogs barking (a lot) truly make Christmas...Christmas.

Oh, and all photo credit goes to Dave for the following pictures (all except the last two).

So blame him, Lauren.

Meg, you look gorgeous.
Don't I look tall?!

And then...time to go home.

Christmas, Take 4.

After Barb's, we came home and tried to settle down the blonde-haired wonder. She was wound. She wanted to write Santa a "note" that ended up taking until 10:30 to complete. And we still had a scooter to assemble and presents to set out from Santa.

We did the obligatory milk and cookies for Santa, and carrots for the reindeer. Zoey ended up eating them while we were downstairs assembling said scooter, so thanks for that.

Hallie was thrilled with her scooter, tape and scissors, and when it was all said and done we were left with two presents still under the tree. We are saving them for her birthday. Hey, she said she was done!

Christmas, Take 3.

Or, Christmas Eve, Take 2. Confused yet?

After Lucille's, we packed up and headed to Barb's for some serious chaos. Everyone had a blast. It really was a wonderful night. Good luck seeing that through the blurry photos. My camera had a small melt down. Or, user error.
