Back To School Feast.

We celebrated going to school with a feast. Everything was picked by Hallie.

On the menu:

Top Ramen
Broccoli
Carrots
Toast with butter
Chips

We had orange soda and Sprite in crystal goblets and had a jolly good time. Our theme for the year will be "Love to Learn," so her small gift was a book, scissors, markers, flashcards...and fruit roll-ups.

Dave was soooo excited about the Ramen. He just loves it. Can't you tell?
Also, this next picture was taken as she came bolting off the school bus that very first day. Pretty much sums it up - this kid loves school. Big time.

Princess Tea Party Extravaganza!

Once upon a time in a far away land, a little Princess turned three. And in celebration of the child's birth, her mother, The Queen, threw her a Princess Tea Party for her little Princess friends. Crazy Queen.

Princesses from all o're the land attended the teaparty:

Princess Addison:

Princess Karsyn:

Princess Macie (check out the jewels):

Princess Anna:

And of course, Princess Hallie and Princess Mackenzie:

Several PITs (Princesses-in-Training) attended with their chaperones(PIT Eve, Maggie and Ella):

The Queen prepared quite a feast:

Princess Hallie delicately nibbled at a cupcake:

After the feast, the Court went out-of-doors for a brief craft. Some did quite well, while others simply wanted to play with the wildlife. Or sidewalk chalk.

It was a wonderful day.

The End.

Tomorrow...the family birthday party.

back to school feast: 2011 edition.

we celebrated the start of another school year by having a rockin' back to school feast. oh who am i kidding? it was thrown together at the last minute and was slightly lame.

last year's was much better.

at least we had some sparkle juice.

this year's theme was "reading rocks!" i know. i really couldn't think of anything else. i should have just had it be "kindergarten rocks!" but i absolutely adore alliteration.

hallie took a really long time to eat. she is very pokey.

BACK TO SCHOOL FEAST 2012.

i'm a fan of traditions. i am. but man, sometimes it's hard to pull them off. but i love our back to school feasts and was bound and determined to make it happen.

we did it and we had three kinds of pringles. that's right...three kinds. that's the stuff of dreams, people.

we had homemade pizza, homemade cheese sticks, veggies, grapes and pringles. yum, yum.

we talked about goals and making this school year the best ever.

henry threw his food on the floor and was generally adorable.

so, thrown together or not...it was great.
it was perfect.

Open House, But I Lost My Camera.

I have great pictures of our super fancy, back-to-school feast.

But I can't find my darn camera! I remember putting it on the counter in the kitchen with her new scissors and markers. But that's it. The markers and scissors are put away, but my camera is hiding from me.

It is a crying shame, because we had Hallie's open house last night at her school.

That kid was mega excited. She dragged me and Dave around by the hands showing us every detail of her classroom.

"Mom! Mom! Here's the carpet where we sit.

And the pillows.

And here's the pottyandsinkandwecannotshutthedoorallthewaywhenwepottyandwecolorhereandmakenecklaceshereandlook
overhereatmyhomeworkandhereisourfamilypicutreandmylockerand..."

You get the idea.

This kid loves school.

Her teachers, Miss Elisha and Miss Amy love her too. They said she is a joy - of course she is. Miss Elisha was going over rules, like raising our hand, and my oh-so-perfect angel pipes up and say, "Yes, Miss Elisha, I will do anything you tell me to."

ha.

It sounds like she will be more like her father at school and less like her mother. Her father was a perfect angel. If anyone tried to talk to him while the teacher was speaking, he would look straight ahead and not pay them any attention.

I, on the other hand, always had "keri is a great student, but needs to talk less to her classmates." I was a chatterbox to the extreme. And proud of it.

I suppose it is only Day Three. Let's give her a week and then see what Miss Elisha has to say.

MARCH GOALS: THAT'S A WRAP.

here's the link to my original post for my march goals: http://babymasonsblog.blogspot.com/2012/03/goals-marching-on-ha.html.

to recap, i was to:

  1. make crockpot yogurt. and that....didn't happen. i mean, i could have but i honestly kept forgetting about it. and it's more of a weekend project and our weekends have been sort of cray-z.
    2. duplicate some outfits from pinterest. yeah, buddy, i rocked this one. i mean, check it.

my favorites are the ones without the solid cardigans or blazers. so...more patterns on top, got it. and love my leopard belt, laceless oxfords, skinnies and the half-tuck. big fan of the half-tuck.

  3. goal three was to finish my book (feast of crows, book three of game of thrones) - done!

now...onto APRIL!

Comin' at you from the Homefront.

(I'm really not sure which of those words should be capitalized in the title. Betsy - a little help?)

I have the joy this morning of blogging from home. I have an early meeting at JHS, and am sitting at my dining room table, windows open, in my robe (gasp!), drinking a cup of coffee and blogging. Life is divine.

I missed my blog posting yesterday becaues of MORE meetings. And since I know you are DYING to hear about my mixer, well....here goes:

It's everything a girl could want. Do you recall the post where I sucked at bread? Well, no more my friend. I have battled with bread for the last time.

Feast (ha!) your eyes -

Oops! Nevermind! I don't have the pictures on this computer. Drat. You'll just have to pretend.

One of my loaves was perfection. Gorgeous crust, fluffy inside, just...perfect. The other would have been perfect had I not accidentally knocked it on the over rack when putting it into bake.

You could hear the psssssssttt as it deflated, along with my hopes. Hey - it still tasted good!

I do have a few pictures of the Ginger Molasses Cookies. Barb had two. TWO! (looks like poop, but I promise, they turned out yummy!)

Whoops! Blogger doesn't want to upload pictures this morning.

Oh.

Well.

Have a great day!
